temparature gauge not working

1989 t25 1.9 water cooled petrol. red light in centre of temp gauge started flashing when engine cold. then when i re- started the engine the temp gauge is now not working. any ideas of whats happened cheers

So tell us what you checked first

just aquired 89 autohome komet bit new at this not checked anything yet just wondering if anyone had same problem and could point me in right direction

well if you haven't checked anything make sure the coolant is topped up to the brim in the header tank.... not the top up tank behind the inspection flap.
