Mirrors; can't adjust to see
Bit of a strange one. Had extensive body work done on the van (and very pleased with it) the mirrors had to come off and now can't adjust them to see side and corners of the van. Have swapped them rotated them and took the van back to the garage but still can't set them up as they were. They are back on the sides they came off. Any ideas?
Are we going on anything else?

I've got exactly the same problem. Took ours off the lubricate them. Bit embarrassing but I think I've just stumbled across the answer. Looking at pics of vans, the mirrors are all orientated vertically not horizontally ie longest side upright

Not absolutely sure if this makes a difference or not, but try turning the bases through 180 degrees. Seem to remember having to do that to one of mine when I came to putting it back on.

If you lubricate them, you'll never get them to stay in one place. If anything you need to roughen cup area to create some resistance.

Yes, I discovered that also. Problem is we can't get down the drive with them on - they wouldn't budge at all so I decided to clean up the crud and grease them to see if they might fold back enough to get down the drive. At first they were too loose but I've got them tightened up enough now. Just need to put them the right way up

Mine were the same - last owner had 'em on wrong, anf thought they must have been left handed or something!
