Door Lock

Got a problem with drivers side door lock, the handle & key are working fine but the mech in the door seems jammed it's not moving up & down as it should tried WD40 but no good it must have been like it when I bought the camper it's been in the workshop since so I haven't had to lock it.

If I need to replace it where can I get another one or is it possible to fix it?

It's a 83 Aircooled early model I guess

The driver's door lock on mine can't be locked by pushing the button down with the door open. The lock works fine on the key and the button can be pushed down when the door is shut. I think this is to stop you being able to automatically lock the door from the outside with the keys left inside.
Can you lock the door from the inside by pushing the button down?

It's really easy to take it apart and have a look at what's going on - 3 screws on the end of the door gets the brass lock etc off. Mine was doing something similar, so I took it all apart, cleaned and greased it and now it's as good as new.
