Syncro Numptie

Post by lhd »

I have been trying to solve this banging from the rear and it's been doing my head in so I took at trip over to Jeds for some Syncro servicing.
He sat in the back to work out where it was coming from.

Being a newbie I didn't even know rear shocks were longer on a syncro, and having already swapped them with my 2wd ones I discounted them as the problem. :run

So thanks jed you were right, I have even found the part No for the Van-Magnums and they are indeed for a 2wd. :ok
Luckily Axeman had an old pair which I have fitted for now (cheers Neil) .
The van feels totally weired now though, really wallowy. I liked the feel of the Van Magnums other than the banging so am considering getting a new pair, but the proper ones.

I fitted a set of these to the front of my Westy, http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trks ... Categories" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; they are really good and stop the van wallowing when loaded up and stops it from sagging under weight too. I am going to stick some on the back too (30mm ones) after I fit some Futbus rear shock extenders and wishbone spacers. Gonna whack some on the Doka too.

Wish I had seen that when I looked at it. Would have saved me about three weeks.
