No response from engine

Post by jpee »

Hi All. I'd welcome some suggestions before I get the big hammer out.

1985 1.9 Aoutosleeper.

Turned key, all fine kicked over first time. Drove about a mile van sat for an hour. Turned key. Nothing. Dash and main lights all showing brightly. Click coming from relay at fuse box but nothing else. No solenoid sound from engine. I'm hoping starter motor which has been slightly sticky, ie turn key starter turns stops then kicks over.

Anything else obvious I should be looking for?

Cheers

First thing to check is the feed to the solenoid, the wire is quite thin and does come adrift sometimes. Give it a good clean up and make sure its a good connection.
What a long strange trip it's been
