Had some front clonking going on, and as I have had some experience in this on the 2wd I thought the first place to start is removing the ARB.

I couldn't believe the difference......there wasn't one. :shock:
Unlike my 2wd which basically turned into a canal barge with lots of excessive roll.
As I suspected this cured the clonks, the top ARB rubbers were so hard it was unbelievable, add to that the usual rusted beyond belief spacers, and fubared droplink rubbers were not helping either.
I just cant believe that theres no differnce in the handling though, I remember someone on here said they had removed theirs, and never refitted, I can see why now.

I cant believe you cant tell the difference!

I took mine off for a while, then put it back on as it felt much more stable with it fitted. Horses for courses i guess....

I suppose, technically, you could expect more front axle articulation with out the ARB

Probably makes sense to remove em if you are off roading lots, but on the road you want it on there - especially if you've got camping gear

This might indicate lots of other stuff wrong underneath ......

Perhaps there is some truth in that....

When I last took it off my van was totally stock apart from 15" wheels. Perhaps now there have been suspension upgrades it might be better than it was before without the ARB, perhaps i should try taking it off again now that there have been upgrades and see what difference there is..or isn't.

I'm really surprised no one Has adapted a Nissan Patrol rear ARB link yet.

Offroad probably would help but onroad think it would be a bit like a condom, better to have it as when the time comes when you need it and don't have it you'll regret it :wink:
