Eber & underseat

Post by Realize »

Hi All

Can anyone identify which model Eberspacher I have from the controller, it has stopped working. (attached pic)

There is a split in the bendy exhaust hose so I guess that has something to do with it.
I have ordered a new piece but have yet to fit it.

Just need to know what model it is so I can find a manual.

Also I have attached a pic of the transformer thingy under rear seat, what actually is it and can I charge both batteries if I plug the mains hook up into the side of van.

Vehicle is a 1981 Joker 2ltr Air cooled.

I think it's a B/D2L? Should be a sticker on the silver box you can see in your picture next to the transformer.

Looks same as mine which hasn't worked since i got the van but haven't looked at it yet, and my sticker says B/D2L.

Hi Cheers for reply

Mine did actually light up red on controller but that has stopped too now.
Definitely going to try and get it working, I am going to change the exhaust hose foirst as this is split and I think they
have sensors that cut it out if gases are leaking etc.

Need to find a manual for it still let me know if you have one.

The obvious thing to do is to look at the heater itself - crystal balls no worky at long distance.
I have around seven different controllers on my bench and they could all be used for one heater.

How do you know it is an Eberspacher?

I am 99.9% sure it is an eberspacher as my bus is totally original and yes it may have eberspacher on the control box which doesn't mean to say that the heater itself has not been changed. But I am pretty certain that it is the same as when it left the factory.

So you say you have a few controllers on your bench. If I got the heater running again is it possible to fit a new controller with a more up to date one showing temp of air & timer etc?

Cheers for the advice.

Anything is possible. It's easy enough to add a timer also remote control. You won't necessarily be able to use all the functions of all controllers though.
