Water Tank... Clueless

Hello again,

OK so today I decided to drop the water tank as when I got the van I tried using the tap, it pumped a bit but then stopped so I think clogged up.

Anyway the tanks out ready for a clean but I am a bit stuck with 2 things.

Firstly this water level sender seems a bit dodgy / broken. It looks homemade with the protruding screws and the sensor seems to be a line of resistors?!? and one has rotten off and fallen into the tank:







I think my conversion is an Autosleeper Tridant, but I am not 100%. Is this part replaceable / Serviceable?

Secondly when I was removing the tank the outlet pipe was really stuck and I broke the nipple coming from the tank . I tried then removing the nipple fixing but it was just turning in its place so I hack sawed it out. Luckily it looks like I should be able to replace it if I find the right part.





It's hard to make out cause of the hacking but it comes in 2 parts. One is put in from inside the tank and the other with nipple screws in from outside. Anyone know the proper name or have a link to one?
The diameter of the thread is 20mm. Does anyone know what this part is called?

I have a very similar tank on mine with the weird manky gauge , i never bothered to wire min up, as for the fittings I got um off ebay!

It a nut in tank outlet. Download the CAK Tanks catalogue they will show all the fittings.

Its a bulkhead fitting. Any plumbers merchant should have one. If not try Dual Pumps they stock loads of plastic & nylon pipe fittings.

Hi,

Remarkably that is actually the original Autosleeper water sensor - it is a row of resisters soldered together, which hangs into the tank. Mine looked exactly the same, but I couldn't work out a way of soldering the resistors back in, so the water gauge no longer works below half a tank....

I couldn't figure out a way to fix it, so have decided to live with it (along with other random problems!!)

Kev the Rev on here is the Autosleeper King, so he may well be able to help......

If I was to attempt to repair this does anyone know what type of resister I would need? Or what is in the pic? Not sure if those clued up on electronics could tell from the colored bands?

Alternatively I guess there is no alternative to replace with and still use the original auto sleeper gauge?

Then go to Maplins.

Nerrrr just tank the resistor to maplins and let them read the value off it.

Just a few pence each although you'll probably find yourself HAVING to buy a pack of ten.
