Glue for westy water tank

Post by vwt25 »

Hi,

One of the tube/fillers has snapped off the water tank (White opaque tank), Can anyone recommend a glue suitable to glue it back on with ?

D'you mean the water tank for the sink, or the header/expansion tank for the engine coolant? If it's coolant, I'd have thought replacement would be the best bet - not only easy to get at and replace, but exposed to heat & pressure.

No haven't tried anything yet, wanted to get it right first time so I don't have to try and scrap glue off, its for the filler that is accessed under the RNR bed with the screw cap on.

Well that's what I used on the same tank to add a pump pipe. It's been in and out loads of time and still holds fine.

you probably want to get some "suitable for potable" type glue like the ones for fish tanks. ebay or pet shops might help. can be some nasty stuff in normal bathroom sealant and glues that you wouldnt like your drinking water to touch..

For strength you might want to consider a fibreglass/resin repair kit.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies, also does anyone know where I can buy the pump/water level gauge etc, as at the moment all I have is the tank, and any ideas on how to connect it all up as there are no wires or water lines etc, just have the tank and tap on sink but nothing between the two (unless someone has some pics of thier tank in place ? under RNR full width bed)

Cheers
