hazard lights only stay on for a short while ?

hi guys maybe you can help me here when I put on my hazard lights with the van parked they only stay on for 5 mins max then stop the handbrake lights stay on and the hazrds or indicators will only come to life after a rev of the engine when the alternator kicks in with engine running seems to work perfect Is it bad earths or dodgy connections? or a tired relay ?

Sounds like a low battery if they work ok when the engines running. Have you checked the voltage at the battery? Give it a good long charge and then take another reading, let it stand for a while & then switch the headlamps on and off and check again, does it drop right down quickly or over a couple of days.
