Oh well looks like i cannot work out how to post a photo, Anyway it sits between the coil and ignition amplifier and is fixed to the chassis, it is square with 2 fixings with a part number of 171 906 083 - it also has 2 round conections with 3 pins in each. and is made by Hella..Someone has mentioned it may be a Idle module??. Thanks again

Sounds like the idle stabiliser control unit.
Usualy it just stops your van from idleing propperly.
The two conectors will unplug ang plug into each other.
Lots of folk run their vans for years with this unit disconnected.
Try it and see.
