Post by classicbrake »

we have just replaced the rotten pop top on an autohomes kamper. we made it the same as original with insulation sandwiched between ply then covered it with rubber pondliner . the results are great. but now i want to do the inside with something the isnt going to cause condensation. any ideas.

I covered mine with vinyl wallpaper in a delightful neutral shade like the original. Kept some spare. When it gets dirty, I just repaper it.
1.9D (AEF) pop-top. Aaaaahhhhh........that's better.

What about the thin lining carpet a lot of campers are trimmed out in?

I converted three vans over the years and haven't found anything better than the thin lining carpet as fitted to my ancient Leisuredrive converted hightop (No 4). Thin foam backed leatherette I used on my CF dripped water on us and the Thixotropic contact adhesive bubbled in the sun. I would go for the carpet if you can work out how to shape it for the compound radii.
