Thanx, Rob. There are so many places to visit in Europe that it might be we'll never get back to Morocco, hence some not-so-good shots are included simply because we have no other record. It's an amazing country, and I'm so glad we went.
I'm still deleting a few of the samey shots, but some days there really were some long stretches of samey scenery.

Yes. How uncool, eh, but there you are. We did benefit from the organiser's local knowledge, but it was far from essential. And it was strange, very unadventurous to be surrounded by Brits and to have no need to organise anything ourselves.
The holiday was a big expensive treat and for three or four years we'd planned to do it. I soon realised the man who ran the tour was an a*** of the first and ancient order of arses, but more than one couple on the tour said they'd been on other tours much worse arranged. It wouldn't be difficult for readers to work out the details, but I've decided not to give the firm a mention at all.
Somewhere I have, still, I hope, a list of the GPS locations of all the campsites and will eventually include them in the narrative.

Thank you. It's been particularly interesting to see recent events in Tunisia and Egypt on TV. Morocco is very nearby, of course, and has a similarly bloody awful human rights record - so bad that for years I'd said I wouldn't support the regime by bringing in my "tourist dollar".

Yeah, essentially, lots of people (many with more money than sense), give lots of money to a thick bloke who doesn't do much to deserve it, and tells lots of lies not very well. (We can all find such stories any day almost anywhere, can't we). We didn't let it annoy us too often though and can about it now. The fact is, we could've done it all on our ownsome, but too often it would've felt too much like hard work.

My wife's just had a guess and it's so much I'm embarrassed to tell you.
Oh, allright..... She might be wrong, but she said £1800 for two adults for 3 weeks including ferry from Spain and back, all campsites, non-existent breakdown support, baksheesh probably, a leader and 3 staff, 3 formal meals.......

I think the grittiness is permanent, but it seems to me that climate change is so rapid that predictions of good weather are increasingly unreliable. IF I were to go back, I might aim for early autumn. The Atlas mountains would be a little less snowy, but surely one could expect some heat.
I hope you can come back for Pt II when you'll see grit, but quite a lot more sun.
