Starter motors and calipers

Post by fall-apart-dave »

Two things...

First off, starter motors... 1980 Devon van 1600 CT, they the same as Bug ones or are there differences? Can they be interchanged at all?

Secondly...

Calipers... For the same van, are they easy to rebuild? Mine is still sticking, I had freed it off but after a drive the passenger side wheel was hot, so that side is still sticking. Or am I better just getting a new caliper?

Thanks in advance

Dave

I just replaced mine when it did that - good for another 23 years. Not worth compromising on brake parts - at least you will be able to bleed it!

Thank you

The calliper bleeds just fine, it was just sticky. So, replacement calliper on the list.

WHat about the starter motor..? Anyone know if they are intercahngable with Bug units?
