Dug Bender of metal

Post by Hacksawbob »

Dazzer or anyone else for that matter. Do you think the LT mirrors be bent to be more verticle? I know the bottom bracket cam be removed with a dowel pin, then shorten the lower horizontal bit? all will it all go out of shape?

Looks like a pig of a job, I'm not a tube bender but if you used a T25 as a pattern I can't see why not. Maybee try some heat on the joints as your bound to damage the finish anyway. You could allways try Jim at Cotsweld as he does a lot of tube work (race cars ect see the front cover red beetle in Volksworld) only problem is that he is in Cheltenham and the P&P might be a problem, pm if you want his number he will be back next week as he is racing his car in Stratford this weekend.
It's nothing a great deal of time and money can't fix

T25 has a longer top end as Beaker pointed out to me, justa thought if its too difficult or going to cost me money I'll leave them as they are.

Looks possible bob, the only problem I can see is that the tube may kink. Its probably far easier to make a complete new tube and fit the odds and sods on afterwards
