I've been trying to buy this Syncro Van for about 18 months now as its a very low mileage one with twin lockers on it. It used to belong to the National TV Company but was sold off as part of a job lot when the Outside Broadcast Section was farmed out. The van was due to be sold this month but because of the recent snow they discovered just how good a Syncro was so they are keeping it!
They mount a camera platform on the roof (not on the Thule roof rack!) and climb up on that ladder!
kind of looks a bit make do and mend (the irish way?), i recon that i could bend it straight again with a little heat and some force with my lucky hammer

neil
If you could, Neil, I will pay for your trip to Ireland in June!! Its made from 20 x 75 aluminium bar and 25mm tube! Its very substantial!
Ive got a ladder was in process of listing stuff and was going up tomorrow!
Pro made but never got round to getting it finished! Just needs the bolt holes drilling and painting. Is custom/'fitted'/made for a T3 so fits contours - especially at top of tailgate where it curves. Was looking at £50.
Any use?
(ask nicely and i might even be able to get it drilled PROPERLY - not by a monkey with a black n decker whilst its resting on your knees )

Before buying that Tap & Die try and find out if it's Carbon Steel (most likely) or HSS.
If it's carbon it would be as long lasting as HSS.
Made from M2 HSS and for that price it will last me out. Great thing to have even though you'll only use it a few times but if it gets you out of a hole ....

Are you sure? Looks like a common-or-garden commercial aluminium ladder that's been mitred and alloy MIG'd together to me. The rubber end caps are a bit of a giveaway

Much more like it. Nicely styled. Not too springy?
No bounce at all. I reinforced the mounts inside just to be sure but tbh that was more paranoia than anything. I'd had it on for months and tried it without with no weight issues after 18st of fat bloke swinging on it.
Needs replicating really. By swapping the two sides it could fit either way (it's properly handed).
