Vinyl suppliers

Post by Si_P »

I'm in the process of updating the interior of my van and intend to cover over the tatty black dash with some blue vinyl. However the colour range available in the uk is not too good.

Does anybody know of a good supplier who can provide light (baby or sky) blue vinyl?

Names of good suppliers are also welcome.

Have you tried these

http://www.thevinylcorporation.co.uk/

Not tried them myself but looks like they have a good range and I'm sure they would send a few samples if you ask.

There's this company on ebay, they sell by the meter. They also have a direct website. I've requested some samples a day or two ago.

Ta for the links. Unfortunately I'm after the stretchable vinyl fabric I think It will give a better cover of the dash.

That said I'm getting a few samples to be sure

Just ordered some vinyl from Woolies:

Not got it yet (only ordered on Monday) so can't tell you any more, but their service so far has been great.

Cheers,

be carefull. light coloured dashes can reflect really badly in the sun. i`d lay a bit on the dash first as a tester to see.

don't forget to use high temp contact adhesive (spray type will be easier on a dash) you may have to fit and sew it on a few places if you don't want any pleats and you can get the vinyl to stretch more if you warm it up with a hair drier as your covering the dash if you have any probs give us a call

A quick review of the samples. Well the product is self adhesive and seems very easy to work with, it can be shaped round corners and curves (hair dryer possibly needed), it can be wiped clean and there are loads of colour and pattern choices.

The blurb on ebay says it can cope with freezing and high temps. It apparently can last outside for a couple of years as well.
