Post by oldiguana »

eyup ducks, only put a post on yesterday and the problem has been solved thanks to all of you,now me next problem is the exhaust,1983 watercooled diesel ,1.9n/a has replaced a completely destroyed 1.6n/a,ive got the downpipe and the rear silencer with some of the rubber mounting doo dars, but i seem to be two more brackets missing,on the near side there seems to be an l-shaped bracket missing, and on the offside(drivers side)there is a long bracket missing (gsf reckon its called a rip plate)its a long bugger sort of triangle shaped(5 bolt holes i think?) and it bolts to the sump!,i think im knackered without them, does anybodt know where to source such a part(main dealer perhaps?)or has anyone got them to flog,if i can get some i will make patterns for them so that i can make them if anyone else gets stuck similarly

Ditto on the triangle one, mine has broke and been welded back together, badly. Scrap yard I s'pose but let me know if you do decide to fab some, if I find one before you I'll let you borrow it.
