Slipping out of 1st.

Post by insitu_mouldings »

Just thought i'd enquire as to a problem that I have had for some time now.

On acceleration form standstill the van sometime slips out of 1st gear making a slight crunching sound.

All other gears are fine and when in motion the gearbox is very smooth and works as it should.

Hasn't really bothered me that much but I may aswell sort it when i've got 5 mins and was looking for some pointers before I get the manual out.

I have looked at the linkage underneath the cowling before and everything seemed to be lined up properly.

My van is a 1.9 DG Petrol. Thanks in advance. Jud.

Not T3 specific but when this happens you would normally look at things like engine/gearbox mountings allowing too much movement and pulling itself out of gear.
Problems with a bent sellector fork (not pushing the syncro hub fully over and in to position).
Problems with selector detent (not holding the selectors in their set gear positions).
