Anywhere like Shell Island?

Post by bikermike87 »

Hey folks,

I often visit shell island http://www.shellisland.co.uk/ it's great for having a wild camp feel but with showers and loo's for the girlfriend.
No one is aloud to camp within 100 yards but I often find myself with at least 500 yards, it has a beach for fires etc and a pub. I don't like the whole camping next door to someone on a campsite like a car park. I might as well be back home in my apartment!

Was just wondering if anybody know's of anything similar, hopefully all year around. Shell island is closed

So if you know a site with the following:
Spacious camp site, no nosey neighbours
A pub near by.
A toilet

Thanks

You could try valley of the rocks, Anglesey. Think they're open all year. People can camp next to you but at this time of year it'll be empty. Lower field is hookup etc, but rest of it is wild, camp where you want. Paddlers return pub just on entrance to site, or if closed at this time of year there's a couple of other bars in treaddur bay.

Thanks Kathy, think I might check that campsite out.

I do go on funplace2b but there is no search option for "wild camp" sites so It takes me ages reading through each one!

Just hope it isn't too windy on Anglesy!
