LHD to RHD conversion

Post by CompoSimmonite »

I fully understand the immediate response would be "live with the LHD" but I'm disabled with left leg problems and struggle to get into the left side of any vehicle so not an option.

I've my heart set on a T25 and seeing even the youngest is now 20 years old I'm considering buying from abroad to get a rot free vehicle. This is just one thought as I have relatives abroad to assist in sourcing and storage / area to repair before journey / shipping back to UK.

Has anyone converted a LHD to RHD ? Of course it would best involve a donor vehicle to provide the parts with reconditioning as necessary.
Do the LHD and RHD vehicles have the same basic bodyshells (other then side door) ?

Thanks.

If access from the left hand door is the only concern. Would you be better getting in using the side door? To be honest nine times out of ten I get into my van through the sliding door rather than the front doors.

Permanent poor health has taken another turn for the worse so am forgetting the idea of buying a LHD and converting to RHD.

Thanks for advise.
