Freaky Speedo

Post by Realize »

Hi guys

I have a 1981 2ltr Aircooled LHD

I have tried to repair the odometer in my speedo 3 times now but it just keeps breaking, usual hassle with plastic cog coming off spindle.
The speedo is in KM and I have just bought a mph speedo that was apparently from an Aircooled T25.

Does anyone know if I will have calibration problems or cable problems if I try to fit this?

Also after a nearside heat exchanger for same vehicle if anyone has a decent one going.

Cheers Jay

i dont know for sure but it should work fine as it's only powered by the cable running from the center of the front wheel hub' theres no gearing involved

according to the bently manwell, The number printed on the speedometer face plate below the word MPH shows the number of revolutions required by the speedo cable multiplied by 100 to travel a distance of 1/100th of a mile ....

all you need to worry about is the fitting, early have screw on , late push on....... only on a syncro, is the gearing different .......
