Heater controls

Hi all,

This is my first post so hello to everyone. I do hope that I have not just bought yet another money pit... (advice on how to keep the other half unaware of how much money I am spending will be greatfully received)!!

I have recently bought a 1980 Devon Moonraker. Having a poke around I have found that there is a loose cable to the heater controls behind the dashboard. To me the haynes manual diagrams are as clear as mud, explaining much more about the later blower type heaters than the early system.

I take it that there are three cables to the middle (heat control) lever? Are there any better photos or descriptions of how the cabling goes together on this early type of heater system.
