Tyre widths for 6Jx15 Mefro wheels

Does anybody know 100% for sure what is the optimum AT tyre width and what is the Max safe tyre width for 6J steel wheel rims.The best info. that I `ve found on the internet is optimum is 225mm. My Mefro`s are in need of some rubber pref. before VAT goes up in Jan.!

215/75/15 is the common size used. 235/75/15 is also used but clearance can be an issue.

John would've thought 225 would be ok on yours, 235 would encounter fouling issues on the rear arms and other bits at the front.

We've got 225 on the blue one with no problems.

How are you and Vicky? Any news from the wanderers?
