1.9exhaust woes

Post by ju+jo »

hello all, sorry as i very rarely post, but i do read regularly,i have my camper off the road for winter and the exhaust is totally shot, with money being tight(with xmas round the corner and job concerns)i am currently considering fitting a pre 1985 system(mine is 1988 1.9dg)as this is a more realistic option cost wise and gives me more options as regards silencer.any help, advice input would be greatly appreciated

Hi
see my post re 'stainless steel exhausts' (search user posts) - as it goes on to discuss the merits of old and new 1.9DG systems, and interchangeability.

If you are determined to go down the early route then stainless may not be out of your reach

Early 6 part Exhaust from JK £301 for 5 years piece of mind (if you are lucky)

You will probably get better quality parts from GSF though https://secure.gsfcarparts.com/shop/

Or £425 for a stainless system from VWspeedshop that will last considerably longer and increase the value of your van.

£125 isn't that much for years of piece of mind?
