When I bought my van it was advertised as as 1.9. When the van was up on the ramp I noticed that it was stamped 1.6 and the engine number corresponded with a 1990 golf. However there is a large pump attached and the engine lid has been adjusted to accommodate it. The van is comfortable at 65 - 70 could a 1.6 do this? Thanks

Re: Engine 1.9 or 1.6
A 1.6 could cruise at that speed it's gear ratios that determine top speed.
I think it is more than likely a 1.6 if it's stamped on the block sorry

Might be good news in a way. I was thinking about small claims court about other misdescriptions but this one may be enough to win a case
