How does the Westy gas level indicator work?

Where you go, where you stay and everything to do with getting there and back.

How does the Westy gas level indicator work?

Post by cooky73 »

I have removed mine to clean it and when I put it back it was almost like a compass moving to a certain reading - is this correct?

Also, does anyone know where you can get the gas tank/control cover from?

sounds to me as though theres a float in the tank with a magnet on it and when you offer up your gauge it re-aligns itself, hence the compass effect

I'm guessing here as I've never seen one but I'm an Instrument Engineer and magnetic followers are simple and effective for local level indication
