Hi we've just had a great paint job done on our van and the guy there recommended putting rubbers in between the mirrors and the paint work to avoid them digging in over time. I've looked for these and can't find them anywhere. Anyone know where to grab a set?
Its the rubbery plastic that goes between the bottom and top of the mirrors where the attach to the body.

I might have a couple of the top ones in the shed; I'll have a look tomorrow.
From Vagcat
Top one part number 251857545
Bottom one part number 251857543C
Failing that you could cut some out of plastic or rubber to fit.....?

I have had to fit an ordinary mirror to replace the electric one that I broke recently (sob!). I was faced with the same problem and made up a gasket out of inner tube. It doesn't look totally pretty but it definately protects the paintwork.

Yea i was thinking of going down the inner tube router myself but the fact it'll go brittle after not long puts me off. Also we have just got the van resprayed and looking really nice and i dont really want to cut any corners after so much time has been spent on it. If nothing else turns up though and inner tube or similar will be what i use - cheers
