oil filter coming loose

Post by classicbrake »

i have an air cooled CU engine when i got last weekend i got it started and it blew oil all over the floor. the oil seal on the filter seemed to have picked up and was loose. i put a new one on but it comes loose when you rev it . could it be the wrong filter. i have ordered a CU specific filter from vw heritage , but any feedback would be helpfull (cant spell appreciated)

Sounds like the wrong filter to me, like the rubber seal is not squeezing tightly enough. best bet is to get a Mann one from Brickwerks, cheap as chips and is the proper one for the CU. That's what i use and no worries with mine. Good luck!

:ok

Did you lubricate your rubbers first - it's no fun without lubrication! :run
