Lower Ball joints

Have I just bought the wrong ones or have I missed something!!

The Lower ball joint hole is way bigger than the new ball joint so just pushes through,!

Its fighting me all the way!!!

Your help is appreciated

Is that ball joint is pressed into the lower control arm?

what have you done with the old ball joint. you may get a clue by haveing a good look at it.

The Nut goes on the outer edge of the upright.

You have probably been supplied with a ball joint off a bay window. They are slightly smaller in diameter.

there is an "insert/adapter" that sits in the hub carrier.. that the ball joint passes through.... must be left on the old balljoint... IIRC these insert/adapter are not cheap from VW...

Thanks all, I'm sure they are the right ones. The old one has gone as it was FUBAR

I'm taking the other side off tomorrow to compare!

Maybe the collar was on the old one so that's screwed it up!!

How much are they from VW.....GULP!

They are 251 407 187 from Just Kampers (manufactured by topran), Bought these ages ago.....now all of my parts come from BrickWerks

Bentley does not list them hence why I missed them!

Topran is a budget brand.

We've had thr problem a couple of times where even lemforder ones are a poor fit.
Its always the later cast arm.
Fear not as we have some oversize ball joints for this very problem.
I don't think they are on the webahop though. If you want some drop is a mail.
