Just bought and had serviced in Brighton a 1989 T25 Westfalia TD camper.
The garage is suggesting/advising we replace the hoses from rad to engine. Apparently the plastic hoses are no longer available and they are offering metal replacements. They are quoting £500 for the job.
Has anyone come across this proposed solution?

I've done exactly the same on mine as the metal one got a hole and leaked.
Have a look here.... cost a lot less than 5oo quid!

Re: Replacing pipework from radiator to engine
Fuel tank out and in.
Pipes on and off.
Drain and refill cooling system.
about 4 hours work - £160
Pipes, about £160 ish.
Coolant - £25
Price doesn't sound too far off.
Depends if you want it doing right or not, if you have a nice van it's worth spending the money, if it's ready for the scrap pile then it's probably not and a trip to Pirtek is the better option.
