Ok, dilema...

Got a T25, puffs black smoke out of engine breather tube, also needs a new clutch.

It's a straight 1.6D.

I been searching for the aaz engines but they are few and far between and if i find one, the breakers can't give me an honest opinion of it.

Is that the easiest engine to swap? Bearing in mind i won't be doing it myself and need the cheapest way to do this.

I really need someone in the South West who i can trust who won't fob off two ladies who have had a crap year with cancer.
You know what i mean, the back street garage will do it but at what cost to us, we just want to go camping without any hassles after work has been done to the van, like taking it back cos it is knackered still.

Thanks folks.

Well, a difficult one, as conversions usually require either owner planning and hands-on to ensure things go well (and important steps not forgotten), or putting in the hands of a garage that is happy with them, has experience of them (specific type, hopefully) and isn't doing it grudgingly and knows what is involved - else the hours start mounting up... and costs.. and then pushng them sometimes means things aren't done properly. Look at it as a chance to get a fw other jobs sorted too e.g. clutch looked at, shafts etc.

Maybe talk to CJ in the first instance, being in the South West, Syncropsapes UK Ltd...

There'll be others down West that might take this on, or sort you an engine out... but talking to CJ might be your best bet to start with.

Good, the more help and good advice the better, particularly if you're going for a conversion.. there's a good few on here now who have done the AAZ conversion, though its not without a few niggles here and there.

And you see 1.6TDs come up on here more than occasionally.
