Have a stock 2.0 litre Type 4 engine with twin Dell 36's, stock exhaust and heat exchangers, have the chance of a good deal on a sports exhaust, is there any benefit of freer flowing merged header and box over the stock silencer, or do the heat exchangers choke it whatever??

I would suspect the internal diameter of the exchangers would be smaller than that of a set of sporty stainless J pipes... I'm sure Gunslinger et al will be able to shore up or smash down any theory's! 
It is by will alone that I set my 'van' in motion!
