which relay for an A reg van - low coolant

Post by ermie571 »

Hi chaps and chappesses....

had the dash out at the weekend to de-squeak the fan heater.....thought I would have a look for the relay for the led that does water temp and level. I have the old bullet fuses in the van. On the main fuse board there is just one grey relay, number 24. The indicator relay is a replacement, as there are some electrics on the fuse box that look a little fried.

The just above the fuse box, mounted on the pillar just above the earth crowns are another 2 relay holders. One has another 24 in it.....the space next to it is empty. Has four wires coming off underneath....that run of in pairs to two plastic connectors...that in turn run off into the loom. I tried the 43 relay in the socket.....but still no light at self test. So before I start testing LED in dash....what relay should it be? Is it the 43, or something else.

if it is the 43, i shall procure one, stick it in, and then work from there. It hasn't worked for the last 5 years (since I had it) so another coupla weeks aint gonna hurt! In fact it wasn't until we got our second water cooled bus 2 years later that i realised it wasn't working!!!
