You know the plastic sleeve that joins the bits....

Post by Aidan »

of rubber hose that forms the protective boot for the difflock pin on the gearbox ? between the vacuum unit and the gearbox....

the one that is often missing because people cut them off instead of pulling them apart when trying to take the difflock vacuum unit off

well as you can see I had some made, I've looked everywhere for a source of something that does the job like Steyr did , plasticparts.co.uk etc...and in the end it was easiest to ask the machine shop to make a batch, ok they aren't cheap but they enable you to have a complete snug rubber boot protecting the difflock pin and sleeve from crap and corrosion and allow you to split the same and remove the rollpin to remove the vacuum unit, say when doing a petrol starter motor swap or for any other reason you need to do maintenance.

£4.35 complete with rubber boot halves and a new genuine rollpin and postage uk

Nice...
Mine still has them fitted... might be worth putting a kit in the "spares for future use" box mind...
