Manual gearbox for 2.1??

Got a question I cant seem to find an answer for and wondering if anyone could oblige....

I've got hold of a T25 with an auto greabox on a 2.1. Reverse doesnt work (at all) so I thought I'd try to find a 5 speed manual for it. I've been looking but can only seem to find 4 speed ones....

I'm sure it must be possible to fit a 5 speed manual gearbox but which one?

Anyone got any advice on which gearbox to use? if it cant be done please let me know so I save my time!

what are you after, strength or long gears or both. dk 4 speed good, aap 5 speed good but both pricey. if you want to stay vw box speak to aiden talbot if you fancy a custom box tim in ultimate engeering is doing a renault conversion. some gear boxes will be all wrong for your 2.1 so be carefull.

decide what your doing with the van.

get the box rebuilt.

manual conversion is poss but unless you are experienced it will be more of a pain job!

i may be able to help source either box.

a 1.9 auto box is the same as 2.1 auto box , its the final drive thats different . a good mechanic can swap final drives quite simply!
