max tyre size

there are some 265/70/15 for sale local anyone know if they will fit under the arches? and if the will fit ok on my merc rims(7in)
Im a ex 2cvCV fanatic so never had the tyre choice !
My van is rusty and smells like a chippy

us syncro possee generally go upto 215/75/15 MT's as a max, but we've more clearance.
Biggest I know from experience will go on a 2wd is the 205R14C which is about 10% bigger than stock, don't think those 265's will...I had a syncro runing 225/65/16, which sort of equates to 245/70/15 and that's on a syncro

much wider tyres can put more strain on steering components (including your arms!) aswell

Yup they look pretty big..having a quite a low ratio box just could do with a larger rolling radius
im in top at 30 ! way to low for van with a TDI lump init :roll:

What does the law/insurance companies say about playing around with bigger diameter tyre sizes?
