O/S Sliding Door Track Cover

Post by Cruz »

Not long after getting the van I had an argument with one of those big industrial dustbins, outside the flat we were living in, and put a big gouge down the offside sliding door track cover. At the time I checkedVW and they wanted over £60 for one.

So I rubbed it down the best I could and lived with it. Today the metal tags for securing the cover to the van finally snapped off after being limp so I checked VW again today and imagine my surprise to find it's now only £17.29 on back order.

Just thought I'd let you know if you are after one.

I bought a second hand one off ebay for £25. Patiently waited for delivery only to receive the WRONG SIDE.
Sent it back and again waited for the delivery....right side this time but DENTED IN THE POST.

E D I T: My van is RHD... I've just discovered that he's sent me the right side but from a Left hand drive van..... *deep breath*

Seams to be silly season at the moment what with the last few n/s inner sills going for £15 and o/s quarter light bars selling for £1.97

You can add the o/s sliding door runner cover for under £20 to that too

Bladdy VW. Ordered it, they said it would go on back order and then some bright spark deleted it from back order and made the part obsolete without telling my dealer.

So there's none left after all..........unless someone else got the last one before me. If so it serves me right though for posting up the price before having one in my hand

Just beware of ebay guys. I now have had THREE incorrect covers sent to me.
This fella somehow has it in his head that I have a left hand drive van even though I never uttered the word LEFT and the listing showed a right hand drive cover. Doesn't look like its going to end amicably.

Sorry for the absence. I went to see Paul as soon as VW let me down. I've had a number of things from him in the past, the first being a pair of solid trailing arms for £50 on ebay :ok
