Wild camping in Wales in 2wd

Post by dcfb77 »

Heading over to Wales this weekend and wondered if anyone knew of any nice "wild" camping spots accessible by a 2wd T25? Syncros not ready yet :(

Any suggestions welcome! I dont have any particular area in mind....

Thanks, David

The whole place is a free camp dream, this time of year you have the place to yourself and can camp in many carparks without problems.

Best places are hidden from view, or stealth camping hidden in plain sight.

We find mid Wales to be the best wild camping, spots like this are plentiful

Wales was fantastic!! Found some lovely spots with noone to bother us, was great!

Got a bit optimistic on a few occassions and had to get fished out of trouble 2-3 times by the 4wd's which was a bit embarassing... In my defence, the mud was quite bad on Sunday morning :) Got muddy and everything! Loved it!

I'll be heading straight back there with my Syncro when it's finished for sure!

I guess Wild Camping has two sides to it:

The first is spots that are not easily accessible to normal vehicles or places hidden away from roads (Jed style spots) 8) .

The other are spots that are not campsites or officially marked camping spots (not that you get any on this island), these could be lay-bys, car parks, picnic spots, quiet country lanes or tracks in quiet locations (fire roads or similar in wooded areas), not to forget the standard parking bay on normal roads (used them a few times).
