Gearbox Oil - How to change?

Post by mikec »

OK

How on earth do I get the oil into that filler plug? Is there a pump I can get?

Thanks

Mike

Nah, not needed, use a funnel and a length of hose. I use something of similar bore to washing machine inlet hose so if you've got any around use that. I pull the hose up into the engine bay, shove the funnel in the end and fill from there. A little at a time and you shouldn't end up with much if any on the floor. Saves breaking your back or being jammed under there. Ideally you want it on level ground so I jack bus up enough to get under and stick the hose in, then jack it down to fill.
