I take it that vw put the white underseal under me van? I have seen the underside of another pastel white and it looked the same as mine.
Am I advised to strip it off and use a more mordern product ie waxoil?

I'd leave well alone if it is intact. there is a thick rubberised stuff on the wheel arches. if its not breaking down then it should be OK if it is then you maybe looking at removing it. I've not tried but I'd say it'd be a bugger of a job and waxoil wouldn't have the same sound deadening, plus depending on how you remove it you may end up damaging the metal underneath, beleive it or not these vans were zinc dipped which is the last line of defence between the nasty outside world and your metal. VW used some rubbery stuff on the inside of the seams too. if this has rusted underneath it may be an idea to remove and waxoyl the interior.
