1.6 diesel
Have also got a 1.6 Diesel transporter and i think the glow plugs need replacing. the yellow coil light has started to not come on at all, when you rock the van it flashes as you rock as if there is a loose connection but i believe the glow plugs just need replacing? anyone have an idea bout the diesel engines?
Cheers

If the glow plugs are knackered, they ain't gonna start working by rocking the van!
Try turning on the ingition switch as normal, is there voltage across the glowplug rail, if not then there is no voltage even getting to the plugs
then I would look down the loose connection route, try the connections to the glowplug relay etc.

Left Calais at 5pm and arrived at Lake Garda around 2-30 pm the following day. Non stop journey (apart from breaking down in Austria when the alternator bracket snapped). Average moving speed was 53 mph.

If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried.

glowplug
the glowplug lamp come's on even if the glowplugs arent conected to the relay or the 50 amp fuse is blown. Its more likly to be a loose ignition feed terminal 86 on relay or loose main power feed terminal 30 if movment cures it or even a faulty relay. i would check both the permanent 30 live and the ignition 86 live to the relay and check to see if you have a feed to the glow plug bus bar if not check fuse at base of relay if ok bridge across the terminals 30 and 87 on the relay with thick wire and recheck for feed at bus bar before getting in to swapping the glow plug as no 1&2 cylinders are awkward
Good advice there
to say the least... so take the advice first
