Had a rummage under van tonite as i want to take out all the 220v conduit/sockets etc. Noticed O/S rear drive shaft is leaking/weeping/dripping.
Where i am living now i have no drive/grage/tools so will have to use the local garage.
I have read the wiki entry BTW
(1) Is it just the part number for the seal i need on wiki ?
(2) How much oil do i need and/or hows it filled (ie to level of fill plug) . Local garage is proper old school and always loads of interesting old cars about and have used him once before so know hes good. Just that of he isnt a VW mech he might want to know how much/to what level to save him rooting thr his library. (same Q for front diff-might aswell get them both done while its on the ramp)

Re: Drive shaft weeping!
gearbox will take 4 litres or until overflowing, it's 4.5 total but you can't drain it all, front is 1.5 litres total but will be less than that
