auxillary fuel tank plans

As I,ve just started on a metalwork/welding course around the corner was wondering if anyone knows of plans for auxillary fuel tanks have seen lots of pics but can't even seem to find dimensions. Our tutor is looking for ideas for projects have already suggested my ideas to make a nato canopy but would like to break him in gently so any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated otherwise its back to making candlesticks and hanging basket holders
