Alternative way of making a bog seat/box.

Post by jed the spread »

I bought a multivan seat from vanfest this year as I had a plan.

This looks rubbish,

Image

Before I started I beefed it up abit like this for a very secret reason

Image

Image

If the toilet was in the seat I couldnt pull the flush trap door so some thinking was done and this is what I did

A Multivan seat back doesnt fold forward so I had to have a think then cut some holes like this.

Image

Drove some long screws in the ply at ht back of the seat and now I can lift it up and fold the back flat and actually make an extra single bed,

Image

Image

Lift the seat up and use the loo,

Image

And I can now flush it,

Image

And if someone decides to break into the van while on the continent and are greeted with a bog under the seat I hope they dont think to lift the back rest up  (i will delete it in a few days dont worry)

Image

Image

We can all get round the back table too now,

All in all I am quite happy, just got to put something on the back so we have another work top to use and thats it really.

Hi Jed,

I know this thread is from ages ago, but I've just bought a multivan seat the same as yours to hide the bog. How did you fix the seat in the van so it was secure? Mine has the petrol tank under the floor so I can't bolt the one side through the floor (left side as you look at seat). I can do the right side, and no doubt fix the back through the bulkhead(?) section that the passenger seat sits on (LHD), but would this be secure enough?

Any advice appreciated.

Matt

Image Image Image I did some think like wise but fitted a D2 eber as well as the porta potty the heater outlet can be seen. Bolts secure a angle frame to the bulkhead seat and floor bolts.

Hi

I'm reviving this thread as I'm thinking of doing something similar... so two questions;

Jed - what toilet is that?

Camper - could you get your piccies up again? I'm going for lpg so will be moving my eber from under the bench - this might be an option?

Cheers both.

Does anyone have a multivan seat for sale? I'll be at Bustypes so could collect.

Ta!
