Don't feel too bad the driver at work put 200 litres of unleaded into the diesel tank of the lorry!! Oh and my dad filled the diesel tank on his camper with water!

I can't see why the filler spouts are different shapes so this doesn't happen. Diesel could be round and petrol round maybe?

The oulet is set low on the tank, you could help it by raising the front a little (park on your levellers maybe) it will just pour out (remove your filler cap).
A little bit of Diesel mixed with Lots of petrol is fine so don't feel you need to remove every last drop.

I did it once so don't feel too bad about it ! The filter is located next to the tank and easy to get at so you shouldn't have any problems draining it. Expect a bit of smoke of there is any Diesel left in the tank or made its way to the float chamber but just dilute it by filling up with petrol. Apart from the clouds of smoke when I first fired the engine there were no problems or anything to worry about. Its when you put Petrol into a Diesel engine that you have a real problem....

disconnect the fule lines to the engine, turn twitch the ingnition and the pump will pump it all out. Put abucket under it to collect.

Ps your battery will probably go flat before you get it all out.

Assuming the standard mechanical pump has been replaced with an electric one

I have put Diesel in by mistake, but in our Scirocco at gone midnight (not as easy to drain as a T25)

So I proceeded as follows :-
Buy a gallon of Petrol in a can.
Drain all water out of the windscreen bottle.
Connect windscreen bottle pipe to carb.
Fill windscreen bottle with Petrol.
Put pipe from fuel pump into another gallon can.
Start engine.
Diesel now being pumped into gallon can.
When engine starts to die through lack of petrol, give a pull on the windscreen washer stalk on the steering column to re-fill the carb.
Repeat (for ages ) until tank pretty much empty.
Fill up with petrol and on we went
Next day the windscreen pump was shot, due to the petrol attacking the seals in the pump, but a replacement from the breakers was cheap !

The above is just a blog not a recommendation ! - do as they ^^^ suggest (if you haven't already)
