Howdy,
I'm planning on buying a camper but as my drive is too short for a van it will have to fit in my garage, the problem is clearance. I've found a nice pop-top T25 however it is 2100mm tall, 100mm taller than my garage door...
It seems that 90mm of the height is a roof vent and the van has not been lowered, my plan would be to fit a lowering kit (probably 45mm) and a replacement vent that has a lot lower profile and ideally flush to the roof. Suspension kits are easy to track down but I've not been able to find a suitable replacement vent.
I don't suppose anyone knows of such a roof vent or has another option? Any tips that can get me my first camper will be greatly received.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Keegan

Hi and welcome
Haven't tried it, but I recall someone fitting a car sunroof that they got cheap from a scrap yard. Fits flush to the roof, and seemed an ideal solution to me.
Let us know if you try it! And good luck - you might start a trend.

the other method is 4 steel wheels with no tyres on! I have seen it done! swapping um over is a pain but he had to have it garages for insurance!

Re: Low Profile Roof Vent
Vent lets you get air in/out when it rains... sunroof won't... unless you want to get wet.

Hi
I was left with the same problem by a previous owner but with 2 vents, I replaced them with
I know they dont work as vents but I have a low profile solar vent from a boat for that
the roofs let me get the van in my garage and let a fair bit of light in.
they are from a Maza121 the same shape as the ford fiesta mk3 i think.
The reason I picked those is they are made to fit a flat hole in the steel roof and have no recesses or drains to bother with.
Thay way when you bolt the frame up from the inside you get a nice tight waterproof seal.
Cheers

Re: Low Profile Roof Vent
i have fitted sunroofs to most of my vans at some point or another. my westy had one while it was still a panel van and my doka has one in the cab and one in the vindic canopy.
i collect the ones which lift right out when you undo a clip on the catch. i think they are britax. usually from golfs and similar. i grab them if mates are scrapping their cars.
if you want to go that route i can give you some fitting tips for what they are worth.
