I've ordered a set of seals as the things are leaking but do also need to replace the tubes? I've no idea what's in there now so I assume they're the original tubes. Also do I need to make any adjustments to the tappets or can I "simply" remove the rocker, pushrods, tubes and reassemble once I've changed the seals?
2.0l AC engine.
Thanks all

Re: Pushrod tubes?
No adjustments needed unless you play with the individual tappets.......just undo rockers and replace when you have finished doing the seals

Re: Pushrod tubes?
Are you sure thats right? According to the Haynes manual they should be initially set up if you remove the rockers by adjusting until just touching then tightening a further 2 full turns

No, you can remove the rockers and replace without too much trouble.. making sure the pushrods are seated int he tappets correctly...
If you dont feel happy doing that.. then I would suggest backing off the adjusters... and resetting to 1/2 (half) turn in from just touching... 2 turns is too much in my experience...

Re: Pushrod tubes?
Thanks guys, do I need to use a special grease or even a silicon sealant on the seals before refitting?

nope. Just make sure the recessed areas that the seals sit in, are clean.
