Hi there,
I've been looking at a Caravelle with 2.1 WBX engine, auto with 99k on the clock, and there appears to be way too much oil in the engine as indicated on the dipstick. It appears to have been blowing back throught the breather tower and possibly into the air filter housing and contaminated the air filter.
This is the probible starting point for it stalling & cutting out when I test drove it.
Other than the air filter would the oil get any were else as I've been researching on here and on wiki about the electronic side of the fuel system and my main concern is that the leak out the breather tower has in some way contaminated the air flow meter/sensor as theres oil all over the throttle housing, which would sudgest the cause of the another fault were when the vehicle was in neutral it was over reving at 1500-2000 rpm.
The fault started after I cycled the shifter through 1,2,D,R,N & P a couple of times to check the operation, this might not be related but the more info the better.
Regards
Brad
