Recently I refilled the coolant system for the first time and followed both the wiki and the brick-yard bleeding method.
Before I changed the heater pipe the temp guage used to read half way. Now after the 8 miles to work the needle sits just before the red led.
Could this low reading be down to having air in the system? Whenever I undo the radiator bleed screw a few turns coolant comes out and no air. I have even bled it on a hill and still no more air will come out when holding it at 2000rpm. I don't have a working engine bleed valve (very early system with broken bleed valve)
Am I doing something wrong? (which wouldn't be surprising)
Air in coolant?
